Leaf Spring question
Leaf Spring question
I have a 1997 F-250 Light Duty that has Y code springs. From all of the decoders i have found that code belongs to a Load-Leveling set up. The thing is the previous owner ripped out the factory load-leveling parts and cut all wiring at the frame rail. All the fuses and relays were also removed.
What i want to know is there a major difference between the springs that come with the Load-leveling trucks and the Non Load-leveling trucks. I have seen adds for 3 leaf packs and 4 leaf packs. What difference if any would i see from the 4 leaf pack?

Interesting...I've never heard of factory load leveling (air bags) on this truck! Even more interesting combined with not knowing that option exists is the sheer fact someone would go through all the trouble to remove everything to look as if it never had it...makes you wonder, doesn't it?!?!
This is my spring code from the decoder on this website "Y — 5580 spring, load-leveling suspension (F-250)"

But i know it was there because i found the factory air line cut and a bundle of wire all cut up. Here are some pics of what i found

I know air bags from this time period are notorious for tearing or popping and they are usually expensive to replace. But i know very few 97-03 F-150/F-250LD/F-150 7700 got this option.
