Auto Spring 2" Leveling Kit

I have a '13 F150 XLT 4X4 SCrew. After reading the posts here and elsewhere on the net, I decided the 2" kit will be the best to make the truck level.

I parked the truck on level ground and measured from the ground to the bottom of the front and rear wheel wells. The front was exactly 2" lower than the rear. I called Auto Spring and I was told the 2" leveling kit will make my year/model sit perfectly level. I purchased the 2" kit and installed it. After alignment, the front now sits 1/2" higher than the rear. May not sound like a big deal but its big enough to be noticable. I called Auto Spring and I was told that I will need to intsall either an AAL or bigger rear block to make it level. When I told him I wish I was told that when I first called, he replied "well, thats why we offer a 1.5" kit." He said for whatever reason, the 2013's rear end drops after installing the kit; making it higher in the front end. I again explained that their folks are the ones that told me I need a 2", he replied "ok..." That was it. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL...

Now that I already bought, installed, and aligned, I gotta figure out what I'm going to do...

Next up... Westin Bull Bar...

It looks level to me.. Measure from the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel well, basically straight up.

i would leave it. if you are unhappy with leaving it, then i would step down to a 1.5, not to the AAL unless you are towing and not go bigger tires.

sucks that it had to work out that way though.

The measurement I took is from the center of wheel, from the ground to bottom of the wheel well.

As for the towing, I do tow a few times per year. I haven't towed my skis yet after the lift. I don't know how much the rear will sag with the trailer. Maybe I'll add air bags just for towing... I will be getting slightly bigger tires, maybe 33" when mine wear out... Any thoughts?

33s are perfect imo or even switching to a metric size and going somewhere around a 34. jet skis wont make your truck sag. air bags for towing jet skis arent worth it.

edit

what look are you going for? are you keeping the stock rims or going aftermarket?

i really like this truck

https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...+2010+fx4.html

275 width is subtle, 295-305 (or 12.5 inches wide or so) is perfect
i really like the look of 20s on our trucks, 18s arent bad
i think chrome would really make your truck pop
mud tires look great mud have draw backs, all terrains are a great compromise, but ill take the hit in mpg and go with muds for the looks
i prefer toyo as they will outlast anything and are the most quiet. bfg and nitto are also great

anyways just thought i would poor some info on you haha! any questions just ask, youll get good info around here. also just look at lots and lots of pictures!

edit again

not to pour salt in the wound but he went with the 1.5 inch kit and it came out to 2 inches so he is sitting perfectly level

Just put a brush guard on the front. May level out a little more.

I put a 2" AS on my 2006 and the EXACT same thing happened to me. You've got a 2" block in the back, swap it out for a 3" block and the truck will look perfect. .5" of rake looks better than dead level to me because when it's dead level, I'm concerned with the front possibly being higher. I added a block and I'm happy with it. Install is pretty darn easy and straight forward compared to the front.

33-34" tires would look good

A 1/2" nose high to me sounds silly to change anything ..... also you need to wait a month or so for the front to "settle in" it should drop down some after that period =)

Once it settles you might only be looking at a 1/4" and that is peanuts and nobody can see that from afar or even up close lol ..... I'd say you would be much less happy with the front a tad lower then the back with the 1.5"

I think being nose high depends on each person. I was exactly .5" high and it irritated the hell out of me and I couldn't stand it. I had it like that for months and the height never changed/settled. Every time I looked at my truck, I could easily see it and it makes it look like something is wrong with the vehicle. I can tell immediately on every truck I see at work or on the highway that it like that and I think it looks horrible. I do agree that most people don't care about such a small difference in height though.

I'm confused, how are you measuring from the center of the wheel if your going from the ground to the wheel well? Also depends if you measured with full versus a low gas tank too.

But anyways I'd either give it time to settle or possibly bring the back up some. It'll be cheaper and you won't need to deal with the possibility of needing another alignment.

I have the exact same truck and I ordered the AS 2" kit before seeing this. I can't wait to put it on. What do you think about running a 295/70r18 Terra Grappler? I think they'll fit with no issues and the truck should keep plenty power since they weigh less than a MT in that size range. Nice Truck!

I went with the Bilstein 5100's to level my truck since I was due for shocks anyway. I was very happy with the results. 295's shouldn't be a problem. Hell, I can run a 315/70/17 on stock wheels with mine if I wanted. Torn between 285/70/17 or 305/70/17 Maxxis Bighorns for my next set.

It doesn't really look higher in the pictures to me. FWIW. I'd leave it for now, and then consider options down the road if it still bothers you.

Thanks for the salt

I really like my stock rims, I want to keep them. I was thinking of 305/65/18 for a subtle look.

that width of tire will put you close to even with the fenders. you may have a bit of rubbing on the a arm but its no big deal. only thing id watch out for is cupping. wide tires on narrow factory rims will do that, but as long as you rotate as you should i think youll be fine. what tires you throwin on there?
