Smoother ride with a lift?

Now I know it is expected to have a rougher ride when the truck has been lifted, but I am getting a little sick of bouncing around lately. I love the truck so I would rather try and smooth the ride out then look into a new vehicle.

Any suggestions? Anybody found shocks that have worked better?

Stats on the truck are 2007 F150 with. 4" rancho lift, 35x12.5 General Grabbers and 17" rims

Try adjusting your tire air pressure.

Ive got a pro comp stage 2 kit with the coil overs and adjustable mx6 shocks in the rear on 35 in goodyear duratracs. My truck rides just as well as it did stock....if not better ( its been 2 years since I installed the kit so its hard to remember) also ...what pizzaman said....check the tire pressure. The tire shop inflated mine to max pressure and it felt like I was riding on wagon wheels. Now theyre at 45 psI and the ride is great

Did you replace the shocks when you did the lift?

Quite the contrary...it is usually not expected as none of the compontents changed or altered on the average lift kit for these trucks changes anything affecting overall ride quality. You retain the stock leaf springs in the stock locaton in the rear and stock coil springs in the front. Unless you changed out the springs for something else, your ride should be darn near stock quality. Even shocks will/should not put you in the position you're describing. You've got something else going on (e.g. tire pressure) or maybe you're over-analyzing it because you added a lift??

A lot of times (as described above and as was my case), ride and handling are actually improved. This is due to the quality and rigidity of the components and the stiffining of the frame/subframe assemblies...but again, nothing that would drastically impact 'ride'.

I agree. Try this first. I know a lot of the shops in my area will just inflate a tire to the MAX PSI listed on the sidewall, which is fine if you are doing heavy towing/hauling everyday. But most of use need to run a much lower pressure.
