lift questions

Ok guys I have a couple questions on lifts but just don't know where to start. First and foremost my fx4 2004 f150 has a 2.5" rough country leveling kit and blocks in the rear but I want to go a bit higher than what it sits as. What is the difference in things ya'll say about your suspension ex: 1.5" AAL, 2" add a leaf, coilovers. Im new to lifting vehicles so any help is appreciated I understand a suspension lift 4",6",8" but I don't know anything else my goal is to get around 4" lift and clear 35s

This is a really good read that should explain everything that you need to know https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...tions-etc.html

I will say one thing though .... don't just do the 4" you will be kicking yourself go for a decent 6" suspension lift and you will be very happy with your choice. I have a Rough Country 6" and Longer shocks and I'm so glad that I did not choose the 4" because I want more as it is haha.

I agree with Pockets, I have a 6" as well wish it was just a bit bigger. Although desertdawg uses 4" for a lot of his trucks and they look perfect.

Your only options are to add a 3 inch body lift or install a full suspension lift. I'd go with the 6 inch as others also suggested. Personally, I think it would be insane to spend that amount of money on a 4 inch suspension lift which will only wind up being 1.5 inches taller than you are now.

I was thinking of bringing up the money as well lol

6" is not that high at all and hold your fingers up and spread them 2" apart you'll see how little it is over the 4" lift so it's not a massive change of life

Fabtech, RCD, BDS, Zone, RCX, Superlift and Skyjacker are all good.

Definitely go 6" purely because what has happened to you now, wanting more than the levels, will most certainly happen again with a 4". And like others have said, 6" is still relatively mild

Yep, if you buy a 4 inch lift you'll be kicking yourself within a year for not going with a 6 inch.

On stock wheels, you could clear 35's now. (315/70/17 that is)
