Leveling vs. suspension lift

Hi, i'm new to this forum and new to the truck world. I was a big jeep wrangler fan, I ended up breaking my jeep off roading and sold it. I recently bought a 2007 SCREW XLT and I am wanting to left it. I want to stick 35's underneith of it and was woundering which way to go with the left. Is it better to go with a leveling kit because its cheaper or is a suspension lift better. I like the suspension lifts better because they look better and make the truck look taller but they are alot of money. But a leveling kit is cheap and some what easy to put on if u have the right stuff. So if u had the option what would you do. I know this is probably a most asked question.

What are you going to use it for? Daily driving, offroad, etc?
Budget?
Going to aftermarket wheels or stock wheels?

If I personally had the option I'd lift it, otherwise you'll wish you did a few months down the road.

Depending on the wheel width and offset and backspacing will definitely help decide whether you can fit 35s on a level or not.

Agree with pizzaman. Whether you can fit 35's with just a level is going to depend on wheel choices. As someone who has a level on my truck, I can say this, if thats all you can afford or choose to afford, its a nice option and can get most of your desired results. Having said that, in an ideal world, I'd go with a 4-6" suspension lift all day. So as pizza asked, your budget plays a role here. Also, how much are you willing to budge on tire size. Levels require a lot more to go right to make it all fit.

Leveling kits are no good plus you'll always want more. Lift it and be done with it.

I haven't seen this mentioned but I'll assume you have a 4x4. If not you'll need a body lift or a suspension lift to clear 35's on a 4x2. Then again assuming you have a 4x4 a lift is the way to go. Even though I only have a 2 wheel drive truck, I decided to get a 6" lift. I had a leveling kit for a few years and it just wasn't enough. Like said before, just save for a full lift kit and be done with it.

I'm going to go with a 6'' lift kit probably the pro comp with black monster XD wheels with 35's under it. I can't wait to get back from this deployment so I can start it. Thanks for the help. I will post pics when it is done.
