I just stuck a roller nose pry bar in the lower shock eye and turned mine took about a min extra to adjust it. It did not turn easy but with the top bolted in it did turn and lined right up.

Is it safe to just twist it like that? I suppose I could try to twist it on the bench in the vise, but seem to me like that might not be the best thing.....

Well 1mainiac, I owe you a cold frosty one! Went back out after a while and calmly tried again, got the shock mounted as high as I could and hand tightened the three bolts on the shock tower, then took a long bar and gave it a slight twist, moved a little, twisted some more and it practically popped into place!!! So happy that's in and done with. New Moog tie rod ends in as well, was almost to easy to put those in. Quick measurement shows almost 2.5" height diff on the wheel wells from where I started. I'll measure again in a couple of days after the suspension has had time to settle. Now I'm sitting back with a summer shandy. Thanks again!

Ps. I've taken a few pics so I'll post them when I can get to a computer.

Your welcome nothing but spring tension keeping it from turning looks tougher than it is.

Oh and conversely, I just put the rear shocks on, rancho 9000's... Both sides in less than 20 minutes. Those were very simple!
