lifting a 05 F150
lifting a 05 F150
This is my first time dealing with lifts and that sort of things, just bought me a new truck and need some input from someone who knows what thier talking about. Alright so im wanting to put a lift and new wheels on my truck. my mind isnt set on anything specific. I have a buddy who showed me the machined face rockstars and i liked them. Also i want to put a lift on it, not sure what size, style or brand. I have 285/70/17's NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS on it right now, would those look too small with the lift? Its a 05 F150 Supercrew, silver paint with the chrome accents. Below is a link for a picture of my truck.
when you say lift there are body lifts, suspension lifts, and leveling kits. each has a specific purpose. so the question is....what do you want out of this lift?? just a little height to clear 35s? more suspension travel for off roading? and your pic isnt showing up but im assuming its a 4x4. if it were me, i would throw a 2 inch level on it in the front and be done. your tires are just under 33s and to me that wouldnt look weird at all. if you move up to a suspension lift i believe you will have to get a 6 inch because all the 4s went bye bye (but dont quote me on that), and then youll def have to get bigger tires. so to answer your question, no, those tires wouldnt look weird on a 2 inch level

yes it is 4x4, and from what ive seen i would like a 6 inch suspension lift. i will eventually go with the pro comp 35's, but for now i would be riding on the 285's i want to just get the truck off the ground, i hate being low to it. i will be doing some off roading but not to the extream.
well then if it were me id start saving, and once the 285s wear out buy new wheels/tires/lift/yada yada. or if youve got money burnin a hole in your pocket, do it all now and sell the 285s. but you will def need bigger tires imho when you step up to the 6 inch lift
no...just lift it six inches and put on wheels and keep your 285s....then save your money for 35's and gears while you wear out the 285's......aftermarket wheels, 285's, and 6 inches may look a tad small but will still look a lot better than it does now
