Unhappy 2/4 drop and shocks...wtf!

I've just got a 2/4 drop on my 98 reg cab. The front now looks a little higher than the back. The mechanic told me that "it will drop more once the shocks settle in." Is it true? I got belltech nitro shocks. The person whom I ordered the shocks from sent me 4 belltech shocks and there were all the same. Is it suppose to be the same or should the front shocks be a different size/shape/whatever than the rear shocks?

mana,
i think the mechanic is blowing smoke. shocks do not give any car height. i am talking about regular shocks, not air shocks, which you do not have. you should call Belltech and make sure you got the right part numbers on all the components. Sometimes when you buy a 2"/4" drop, the rear has a 1" adjustment. this adjustment comes via shackles. the shackles have two sets of holes. Make sure that your mechanic used the right holes. i did the same drop for my Screw. my kit came from Western tech. but all these lowering kits from big companies are basically the same. like i said before, call belltech. best of luck.

add on stuff?

I think the problem is just me (i hope). The drop isn't low enough for me (shoulda went 4/6). Is there anything that i can add on to my 2/4 drop to make it lower, such as airbags. I really dont wanna get rid of the 2/4 (It would be wasted money) so anything that can be added and drop it a little more would be great.

2/4 drop

Hey Veloci, do you have any pics of your Screw. If so please post them. I would love to see it.

On the truck with the new 2/4 drop, you can add lower control arms to drop the front 2 more inches and you can get lowered leaf springs for the back. I am not sure how much travel the rear end would have after installing the springs. I may be easier and cheaper to install a flip kit. You would replace the front hangers with the originals and leave the drop shackles on. A shorter set of shocks will be needed as well.

You can contact www.sporttruckdirect.com or www.autobahnwholesale.com for the products and more professsional help.
