longer driveshaft with 6" lift?

Reading on some sites you will need a longer driveshaft with a zone 6" and fabtech 6" is this true with all lifts or just these brands? And do they make aftermarket ones?

I ran a 6" fabtech on my 2003 with a add-a-leaf and didnt need a longer DS. Had a Lightning motor in it and was on 38"s and no problems. If i would have gone any higher i would have looked into one.

IIRC the 04-08 Factech kits came with a spacer that went between the DS and pinion hub.

But yes you can get a custom one made, could have your lenghted. They even make Carbon Fiber DS that are really nice as well.

Not needed on 6" lifts. If you have the two piece drive shaft you will need the shim kit to get your pinion angle right. I am running the Zone 6" on my truck now.

Right on good to know. How are you liking the zone lift? Can't remember who makes it now I heard bds but I think that turned out to be a ruumor.

BDS and Zone are owned by the same company (unless something has changed in the last year), but they are in no way the same lift. Both design their kits on their own.

^correct. I had an in depth conversation with Zone about this on the phone before I ordered. They use the same company for marketing and packaging but have their own engineers and production line and the kits are a different design.

I'm actually really happy with it. I had a little bit of a problem but I created the problem myself. The back was sitting about 1.5" higher (which they clearly advertise) so I added a 1.5" AS level spacer up front to get it level. That was a terrible Idea. Put everything in a bind. My ball joints were maxed out, my control arms were coming in contact with the springs, the ride was terrible, it was just all bad. I took the spacers off last night and then put on some 1.5" drop shackles in the rear and now it sits level again, all my angles are back to safe, and it rides AMAZING again. The Zone truly is a great kit. Nice quality parts, easy to follow instructions, minimal cutting and no welding for the install. All in all I am very happy with it and glad I made the choice to go with the Zone.
