Front end noise

I have a 2001 f150 4x4 5.4 Liter 72000 miles.
There is a rubbing sound that is only audible when the brakes are applied. And only when applied with light pressure. The noise will contine intermittently until you come to a complete stop. If the brake is applied aggressively there is no sound at all. I am not sure if it is a brake issue or some thing in the front end that is flexing when slowing down.

Anybody got any ideas?

Check the bolts on all calipers holding them to the brackets, and the bracket bolts themselfs. If one was loose they will work themselves out, allowing the mechanism to rotate when pressure is applied, rubbing the inside of the wheel well. As a quick check just try to wiggle the calipers up and down through the wheels. This isn't a guarantee, better to take the wheels off.
