3" level on 2wd, same issues?

My question is, since a 2wd doesnt have the additional driveline in the front does a 3" leveling kit present the same problems as 2.5"? I dont have CV's to worry about, not to mention I won't be able to run as big of a tire as 4wd which also decreases the stress on the balljoints. I know a 2.5" still strains the front suspension and it kind of baffles me that an additional 1/2" is the straw that broke the camels back.

The reason I would like to do a 3" is that it would allow me to lift the rear a little more. Please weigh in with your opinions and experiences.

It'll still stress the ball joints and the tie rods just the same as a 3" on a 4x4.

The 1/2" from 2.5" to 3" is that bad? I would say you probably still have issues with a 2.5" right?

2.5" won't have problems nearly as bad/frequently as 3". The 1/2" really does make a difference. But that's why we say stop at 2.5", anything past that and your really starting to push your luck.

You've been lucky then. There's the very rare person that gets lucky every now and then but majority don't.

Don't do 3", it isn't worth the additional cost of repairs down the road.

I agree. Everything has a limit, and 2.5 is the limit for leveling kits on those trucks.
