Quick Dealer Question

My front lower ball joints are going out and I'm looking to replace really soon. So my question is, If I buy the replacement parts and take them to a Ford dealer, will they install them for me? Or do I just go to a local shop?

If you are going to have ford do it, just go drop the truck off. Don't bring your own parts, I'm sure they would not warranty anything if it wasn't a ford part.

I'd either do it yourself or find a reputable shop near by and put on some moog stuff.

Ok, when I worked at a Ford dealer we never had a issue with customers bringing in thier own parts and having us perform the work. Alot of people either dont have the time or the expertise to perform the job. personally i wouldnt let any shop touch my car if they didnt allow me to bring my own parts. They warranty the work they do and not the parts. The part is warrantied by the manufacture not the dealer or the people installing it. For example, if you come to me and want me to install a new alternator and after you leave my driveway it surges and fries your electronics who are you gonna blame? Now each Service manager/Dealer will have thier own policy in regards so i would call and ask them ahead of time. I hope this helps and if i am wrong and the policy has changed please correct me but i am just giving my .02.

Most in my area won't warranty it unless you buy it from them and they charge an arm an a leg on mark up for parts.

I'd say go to local place, it'll most likely be cheaper.
