Best Levels for 03' F150
 

I wanna get a level for my F150 and have been looking at a few options, but it has come down to either coil spring spacers, or the actual coil spring. I've been really looking into the Rough Country 2" coil spring level kit, but I wanna know what the rest of the f150 world recommends, and yes price is a factor.

if i were going lifted i'd do coil springs (on a budget) or 3" spindle and a lift block out back.

make sure you budget for new shocks as well

If you have the money coil spring all the way, ride will be a lot better with that over the spacer.

yes i've been planning on getting procomp shocks along with the kit. seems that for the price these are the best shocks i can find. what do yall think?

I'd go with a 3" spindle kit with a 1" rear block over a coil spring or spacer. It will keep your ball joint angles stock and not change the ride quality at all. Price wise, it's still relatively cheap ($350-$500 IIRC)

that sounds good too, do you have any manufacturers for the 3" spindle and rear block?

Wait for pizzaman or buxton to chime in, they are much more familiar. I believe pizza is running spring tech, not sure about buxton.

Me and Buxton are both running springtech. Probably the most affordable brand out there and the springtech spindles are 3.5" so if you decide you want to go to 35's later it's easier to do because you can just add the 3" coils with the aftermarket arms. Opposed to the 3" rough country spindles which not only would you need the coils and the arms but you'd probably have to do a body lift also because 6" is just barely not enough for 35's where with 6.5" it's a lot better fit because you need very minor trimming if any.

If you go with the spindles I'd go with somewhere around a 1-1.5" block depending on what height spindle you get to make it level. And with the spindles you'll need stock length shocks so those are little cheaper than lifted height applications. Shock wise I'd go with the procomp 9000's, rancho 9000's or the bilstein hd's since it'll require stock height ones.

Since you'll be tearing down the front end anyways to do the install no matter what form of level you decide on I'd plan on replacing upper/lower balljoints and the outer tie rods. If they're about 70k old it's most likely time for them anyways and it'll make install a whole lot easier if your not worried about damaging the old ones to reuse them.

depends on the application, as far as you are concerned though you need a spindle lift. Notice how there is no hole on the spindle I posted up for a axle shaft.

ok cool. with the springtech 3.5" spindle you found, would i also absolutely have to buy new shocks right away?

For the front, no. For the rear, depends on which size block you get with the kit.

If you do have the original shocks on your truck, i'd replace them as they are probably shot.

Spindles use stock length shocks, so you can keep using yours or if they're worn you can replace them, your call. And spindle lifts for the 97-03s are 2wd only.
