My local 4-wheel parts shop said an alignment for a truck with a suspension lift runs 140.00. He also said they do a great job, and I will be pleased.
Sound about right? I don't mind paying more if I don't get crappy work.

i have a place that says you need ball joints every time, needless to say we don't go there often after we replaced ball joints and took it in to be aligned and they claimed it needed ball joints... it was about 150 there, and down the road was a place that knew what they were doing and its about 50 bones.
IMHO, that would be the upper range. Typicaly 4-wheel front end alignment is on avg $80.
If any one states that your F150 needs a 4 wheel alignment or they can do one on an F150, walk away. There is no such thing on an F150. Only the front can be aligned. Cost for a front alignment at my dealer is only about $50 to $60, assuming no parts are needed.
What I think he is referrering to (I'm hoping anyway), is where they are not just doing a conventional front end alignment (which is perfectly fine) but aligning the fronts off of the backs....so to speak.

Luckily I have a buddy that works for a shop so I got my alignment for $40when it would normally is $120 for a lifted truck.
Also, there are cases where you need to align the back of our trucks. Mine is out 0.04 degrees. When you put the lift in, if you dont center the axle, your rear end will be out of alignment and "crabwalk" down the road. Kind of like you see some older trucks with the rear end wayyyy outside of the front tire path, almost going sideways down the road. So in essence you cant align each wheel but you can have the rear of the truck out of alignment with the front.
To fix the rear, they just have to loosen the U-bolts and slide the axle from side to side to get the right alignment. The shop I went to said they didnt have a lift high enough to do mine. They dont see very many lifted trucks.
