Removing body lift
Removing body lift
I am looking at a 94 f150 4wd longbed with 113,000 miles sitting on 33s. It has a 4 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift. I hate the way body lifts look, nor do I want it to be that high with just 33 inch tires. How hard is it to remove a body lift? Can I do it in my driveway? Is it really just taking off the bolts, lifting up the body, take out the spacers, lower the body and replace bolts with shorter ones? I have never messed with a body lift so I don't know much about them except that they look ugly
Give it time for responses.... I don't know anything about removing body lifts on that body style. Give the people who get on in the evenings a chance to see your post and you'll get some answers hopefully.
when we put ours on it was just lift body and put pucks in, i think there may be an extension in the steering linkage, but ours was long enough it didnt need it. make sure you remember to tighten up the parking brake after you take the body lift off.
^^ this.
Steering linkage extension may or may not need to be removed, but it takes 10 minutes to do that if it does need to be off.
You will need to order up some stock body mount bolts and besides that you should be good to go. Have a second pair of hands around when you do it though.

Check to see how your mounts are, with your truck being 18 years old it is definitely a good idea to check and probably wouldn't be a terrible idea to go ahead and replace.

I'm in college so money isn't in an abundance. Here's a pic
