Shops declining to align my truck after leveling

Just installed my 2" Autospring over the weekend on my 2011 and called two local shops today, a mom & pop and a Midas, and both refused to realign my truck after I told them I had installed 2" spacers on the struts. Telling me to take it to a frame shop since they would not be able to align it to spec, the mom n pop guy went as far to say "I bet the manufacturer didn't tell you that did they?" and the only frame shop in town can't get to it for a couple days.

I thought it was just a small toe in issue?
Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same issue, well I lifted mine but same concept. 8 shops declined my truck before I just called a local offroad shop and they recommended a place that they use. Smaller family owned shops probably won't do it and neither will big mainstream places such as firestone or midas, however if you have a Merchant Tire in your area try giving them a call, all the ones in my area will do lifted trucks.

NTB will, but they won't warranty the alignment if the suspension is not stock.

I,ve had 2 lifted trucks aligned at multiple shops multiple times; several different Big 10 tires, a local tire shop, and a local front end specialty place. Nobody has ever said anything about them being lifted. I've seen other people on this forum saying the same thing about places freaking out over a lifted truck, but no shop has ever said anything to me. Nobody I know has ever been turned down because their vehicle is lifted. Why do places not want to do it?

From what they seemed to imply is that they can not match the manufacturer specs after the truck has been lifted.

Also I ended up finding a Midas a few more miles down the road, and they said sure bring it in. Go figure?

After i lifted my truck, 6" lift, i went to Firestone, they gave me the run around and said they couldnt do it, even thouogh i said to put it back to manufacturers specs. So i took it over to NTB and they said they can do it as long as the truck fits on the rack.

About 2 months later i decided to crank the coilovers for another 2" and i needed another alignment. Since they offer a 6 month warranty they redid the alignment. They did ask if i changed anything, but obviously i said no.

It's going to vary shop to shop. Some will do it, others wont. If they dont want your money, screw em.

That's what I'm saying. If every shop I've been to can do it there's no reason to believe that any shop can't do it

If they don't think they can do it, I certainly would not want them to do it. Too many are the opposit, think they can do an aglignment and can't.

If their insurance carriers won't let them do alignments on modified suspensions then I can't blame them for turning that work away....

I think its odd telling you dealer wont cover it , I had both of mine aligned at dealer where I bought truck . They were not out of line on price and I feel better with someone who has a good idea whats going on. BTW it was done at Quicklane. Had tires mounted at same time

Most dealers won't cover it because your altering the suspension thus increasing wear on components, so the way they see it the dealer warranty is there to cover parts that go out in x amount of miles, but by changing it your reducing the amount of miles those parts last and thus incurring more cost to them. It's all about money.

i didn't have any problems getting the alignement done after leveling the truck, took it to Belle Tire and even told them I leveled it, when i got my new wheels and tires Discount tire checked the alignement for free after the change and even noted that the truck was lifted some. no porblems.

Central Illinois (Normal, IL) DT does not do alignments either, tires and that's all.
