6" lift

Hey guys I got a 05 f150 fx4 4x4. I'm thinking of putting a 6" suspension lift on the truck. I just last week got some new Micky Thompson 305/70R18 tires. Will these look to small with the lift? Any pictures would be much appreciated.

What kind of budget do you have and what are you going to be using the truck as?

From highest quality to lowest the lifts are:Rize,BDS, Fabtech, RCD
(Race Car Dynamic) , Procomp, Zone, Rough Country.

The Zone and Rough Country will "get the job done", but do not have the quality as the others. The Procomp is the "best bang for your buck". It is also what Ford uses on there trucks that come lifted from the dealer.

That's all relative on the dealer.

My local ones do pro comp or BDS, while i have seen other dealerships use other brands. It all depends on who is in charge at a certain dealership and what kind of deal they work out with their supplier or shop that installs their lifts.

Skyjacker is not that popular for fords, not sure why.

If all you are going to do is drive around on the streets, go for the lift that you can get the best deal on. Only downside to any lift is shocks, which are easily interchangable down the road if you are unhappy w/ ride quality.

Yeah thats what I have noticed. I have seen a couple use them on here no problem and say they like them but they are never mentioned in the talk. I like them because the drop down bracket is a full 6", comes with new struts(no strut spacer), and has optional replacement springs for the back. I would upgrade their rear shocks to the new M95 ones they have.

So okay, thanks for weighing in on Skyjacker. My only problem is running my wheels with a 5.5" BS. Not sure they will fit on Skyjacker.

Haha. thanks man. you install it yourself? I just dont like the idea of my front tires sticking out farther than my rears with the CV spacers. I have heard nothing but great things about Fabtech though. I wouldnt mind getting their top of the line kit if I can find it for around $2500. The top of the line Pro Comp with the new Coilovers is about $2500 online but not so sure about Pro Comp.

for the 04-08 the standard backspacing for a lifted truck is around 4.5", i don't think you will find a 6" lift that will allow 5.5" backspacing.

Only way to get that to work is to track down a rancho 4" ASAP (they stopped making them recently) and bump it up to 6"

Most lifts (superlift 6" lift IIRC excluded) for the 04-08's are a full 6" drop which have the ability to bump to 8" later on
