Straight axle conversion

Anybody ever straight axled a 05 body style F150. If so, I want to keep the 6 on 135 bolt pattern... Thinking about having the axle made and doing airbags all the way around when my tires wear out. Lifting it to clear 40's on the 22's I already have.

Yes...ogterror on here has. Skip the 6 lug, get dana 60/14bolt. I don't care for bags, prefer coil overs or air shocks but whatever.

I'd like to do it to my f150, but it would suck on the trails around here due to the width.

Why do you want to do it with bags? And also why do you wanna keep that lug pattern? That'll definitely increase the price of the swap.

And it's weaker than 1 ton stuff. You're looking at 5 figures for the swap anyway, no reason to keep your existing wheels.

Ya there are a few that have done this but it has cost a lot of money. OG has a lot invested into his sas, But if you are able to do it on your own it may be more feasible. If you are gonna get a shop to do it you may be better off buying a older truck and build it up... just saying

you'd be better off to find a totalled sd and pull both axles, springs and rims if they are there. you need the same gear ratios or you will tear the hell out of your front differential.

I would like to keep the 6 on 135 patteren to use my rear end, rims and tires, cutting expense. I know that 1/2 tons are weeker than 1 tons. This truck is a pavement princess. It just needs to hold up driving up and down the road... I guess I am wondering more specifically, Has anyone ever had a front end made with the 6 on 135 pattern. As fas as suspension, I will be building it myself. Whether its bags or coils the front would be four linked w/ crossover steering.

Anything can be done but money is where it's gonna count if you wanna convert the front axle bolt pattern.

You could always just get a front axle with a different pattern and get the same kind of wheels you have to match the back ones, unless your rolling on factory rims still. Only downside is itd make rotating tires about impossible without spending a chunk of change to change the wheels on the tires around.

The last build I did was a 98 Chevy S-10. We did a 6 lug 44 up front and did a cut down custom dana 60 with the matching 6 lug in the rear. Willwood disk brakes etc... I know that the rear can be done with aftermarket axle shafts, just not sure about the front. Say taking a 60 and changing the bolt pattern???
