Rancho 4" Lift
Rancho 4" Lift
I was just about to order my lift, when I read a post that I had never read. Does anyone know if you can run the Rancho 4" suspention lift on a Screw with the 6.5 bed. I have talked to alot of people, but never thought to ask that. Thanks for any info. Mark
Yeah I know, I found that out last week. I need to find a vendor that has one in stock. The reason Rancho gave to why it is being discontinued doesnt make sense to me though. They said its because they cant get a contract with the foundry that makes the steering knuckles. But who do they use for all the newer trucks lifts then. Just wondering if anyone on here has a screw with the 61/2' bed that used the Rancho 4" lift.
Come on nobody on here has or knows someone with a Screw with the 6.5 bed that has the Rancho 4" lift. Im dying here, Rancho isnt open till Monday to ask them. I thought I had my mind made up but now Im afraid it wont work on my truck.
I see absolutely no reason the bed length would cause the lift to not work. The only variation in their kit was for brake line modifications from ford from early 04- dec. 04 which uses the 88 kit and the dec. 04- 08 kit has a different kit using p/n ending in 89. The only difference in those kits are the front replacement brake lines. You will be fine with the 89 kit.
The only reason I ask is because I read in another thread about an issue with the driveshaft length due to the overall length of the truck.

King Ranch, I know you just got your lift. Where did you wind up getting it from and what shocks did you go with. Also what are they charging you for the install. I know I am capable of doing it myself, especially since my best friend is a Ford tech, but not having a lift available would probably make the job suck. Thanks again for all you guys input.
I ended up using a local shop in my town called auto expressions. They specialize in suspension lifts. It was $1949.00 total.. The install fee was 650... I went with the RS9000's all 4's... They told me it was overkill but i'd rather max out now and not have to go back and replace the 5000's....
I never got a clear answer if cutting was involved or not. Since it's one complete piece you have to drop the front diff down and mount it.. I don't have tools for any of that so it was easier to let them do the installing...

I wonder how they got the lift if Rancho doesn't even have anymore. Unless they had one in stock. That price seems cheap considering the cheapest I can find with the rs9000xl's online is just over 2000. So your saying they gave you the lift and shocks for like 1300. Just the front shocks are like 300 because of the struts. And yes there is a cut on the crossbar mount but nothing an angle grinder won't do. The install directions are on Rancho's site.
I got mine from autoanything last fall for 1200 plus 490 for the rs9000xl shocks with a 500 rebate. I installed in a barn with one jack and two jack stands. Took about 4 days working four hours a day by myself in 95 degree heat taking breaks.
Yeah I forgot about the 500 rebate maybe that's included in king ranches 1900 total. Still a good deal. On Rancho's site it says 6 hours to install. Maybe for someone who has done it 10 times before. I wonder if you have to get the kit and shocks at the same place to get the rebate.
