New Bilstein 5100 Series.

Hello Gentlemen. I've been off the site for a while and returned to talk about my new shocks. I have a 6" lift and had Pro Comp MX6 shocks on the rear of my 2007 Lariat 4X4.

I had a shock seal blow and lost the fluid/pressure. 4Wheel Parts warrantied the MX6 but the salesman stated they see alot of them returned for failure. I had a $100.00 credit after the shock was warrantied so I purchased two new Bilstein 5100's.

I took the old MX6's off. What a PITA. I ended up beating the hardware out with a hammer and punch. The local Ford dealer wanted $44.00 for new hardwear. I'm only talking 4 new shock bolts and 4 new nuts. I looked at him like he was crazy, he smiled, verifying my belief. I went to a local Ace Hardwear and found the required hardwear for $20.00, for all four nuts and bolts. I put the new shocks on the rear and have been driving on them for a couple weeks now.

What a difference they made. We have very bad roads here in Colorado and the rear of my truck always skipped around, regardless of how I set the MX6's. With the new Bilstein shocks the rear end is super stable and has quit skipping around. The ride is softer also. I am very pleased and recommend these shocks to all you that would like a worthwhile upgrade. With the store credit from the broken MX6, both rear Bilstein shocks cost me $68.00 and the store one-day shipped them to my house.

Take care.

The shocks are actually 5125's. 33-185569 looks like the part number on the box top.

If anyone cares to join me!

I'm thinking about getting these shocks when I put an AAL on and go up to 37s

They didn't come with hardware? Even my mediocre RCX 9000's came with them?

No hardwear. Just the inner sleeves for the bushings.
