Lubrication

My 2010 F150 came from the factory with no grease zerks to lube the
front end. When I examined it, there wasn't even any place to install
fittings. How do you lube it? Is Ford just setting us up to wear out the
front end so we have to replace all the components?

Short answer? You don't lube it.

Ford has been sealing the front ends and u-joints for many years. I think it's actually because many people don't take good care of their vehicles, and never lube their stuff. Ford likely figured that, if they just sealed everything, it would all last longer.

Long life

The problem with serviceable fittings is that some people believe that if a little grease is good then pumping it up until you see grease everywhere is better. Now you've popped the rubber boot, the joint open to the elements and it won't be long before the joint is shot. The best thing you can do for your front end is keep the tires balanced and the front end aligned! A small out of balance "wobble" will load and unload the tie rod ends, ball joints over 500 times EVERY MILE!

You can purchase a lifetime (you only pay once) front end alignment and tire balance from many shops. I use Firestone because they're in many areas that I travel.

265,000 mile on my 2004 F150 screw and the only front end part I've had to replace is the struts. Balance and Alignment!
