squeaky rear end

I recently bought a 1998 F150 4wd. When I put my foot on the nerf bar to get in it squeaks. When I hit even the smallest bump it squeaks. The squeaking is terrible especially when I am driving off road. My daughters explorer sport trac is the same way. Is it the shocks? the leaf springs? How can I fix this? It is driving me nuts!

It's either worn out shocks or the leaf spring bushings if its the rear end. Most likely shocks.

Thanks

Thats kinda what I was thinking too. Just looking for a more knowledgable opinion. I will go ahead and put new shocks all the way around. Now that I think about it My brothers 02 F150 is the same way just not nearly as bad

I started using Fluid Film last year under my '97 to help control the rust and a nice side benefit was it got rid of all the squeaks.
