I've been looking for a new bushings for the twin tube fabtech performance shocks (FTS7159 - fronts) without much luck. There the generic shocks that came with my 6in kit. I'm planning on just calling Fabtech Monday and ordering some cause my tires are really starting to cup with these blown bushings that I'm currently running.

My concern is I know there just going to try and sell me the same junk I already have. Has anyone replaced the bushings for these shocks with universal bushings that may be higher quality?

I found a website called discount auto shocks and they have a bunch of universal bushings, I just don't know which ones would fit the shocks I have. I called them and they were absolutely no help.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Upgrade to a better shock. I don't really hear too many good things about those.

 

I haven't heard many good things about em either, but mine aren't that old so I'm having trouble justifying a new set. IMO i think the bushing design is terrible, thats why I'm wanting to find some universals that will fit.

 

get some bilstein 5100's. Best purchase i made for my truck!

 

measure the inner diameter and outter diameter of your current bushings?

some random shock website has no reason to know the bushing size for your current shocks.

i'd buy new shocks if it was me.
