raise the front with blocks? 2"?

so i got a '99 f250 super-duty 2wd.. i have heady duty helper springs in the rear and so the rear sticks up alot more than the front.. i want to raise the front like 2" the cheapest way and without messing stuff up. i was thinking coil spacers and i know that is one way but it would run me over like 200 or so so id like to NOT do that haha.

Got a buddy that said he can put blocks under the springs for like.. 40$ which is the cost it will take him to cut the block and what not..
Is this something that he could do.. or some1 could do? never really herd much about putting blocks under the front. i know ppl do it on the back all the time but the front?? under the coils?? lol would this be possible without ****ing alot of stuff up?

THANKS!!!

You can't put blocks in the front if you have coils, only if you have front leafs. Your options consist of coil spacers or lift kit.

Maybe he's talking about making some metal shims to go inside the coil pocket so the spring will sit on that. But that's a horrible idea, not only would the ride be awful but it'd be terribly unsafe because the spring wouldn't sit right without the grooves and you run the risk of a coil popping out.

Do the early 2wd SD's use leafs or coils?

disclaimer: if you put blocks on the front end of a straight axle'd truck with leaf springs, darwin will hopefully give you a hand in removing yourself from the gene pool

With all due respect, your friend is obviously not very smart. First of all, lifting the front of a truck with lift blocks is number one on the list of suspension mods to never do. They are fine out back, but the added forces of steering will cause them to spit out up front. Second, your 4x2 SD has IFS with coilsprings (twin I-beam I believe?) so you can't add lift blocks. Your best bet is Daystar coilspring spacers. I think Fabtech may make lift coils also, but that would be more expensive. You can also install a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift. Whatever you do, don't let your friend near your SD!

hahahahaaha, thats exactly what i was thinking... i was like.. hmm.. dont think he can do this. thats why i wanted to check before i went and let him do some **** like that. kinda figured he'd end up ****ing something up lol.
Dont think imma let him do this.. gonna just leave it alone haha.
i tried some could spacer that went in between the coils cause they are cheap but yeah that didnt really work causse we couldnt get them in the springs hahaha. i guess if im to ever JUST raise the front ill have to get the on top coil spacers :P

Don't get the coil spacer's that are meant to go inside the coil where the wind up in there. They will fall out.
