has anyone put bilstein on there 97-03 f150. i have a 01 f150 and i want to put bilstein on it to level it and a small lift i what to fit 285s on my truck can i do that

 

i have those shocks, not sure if it really gave any lift as they were on the truck when i bought it. but they ride nice. I'm runnin about a 33" tire with a level, so you should be fine.

 

Bilsteins for our body style provide no lift, they only lift vehicles with a coil over front suspension. They will however make a smoother ride, at least I think so.

Your options for a small lift are:
4x4
1. Crank torsion bars (free plus an alignment should let you clear 33's)
2. Body Lift

2x4
1. Coil spring spacer (Don't go bigger than 2" without aftermarket control arms)
2. Spindle lift
3. Body lift
