My lift experience

First off, let me start by saying don't ever chenge the coil springs on your truck. The ride is too good to mess with.

My adventure all started last July when I ordered a set of Fabtech Leveling Coils. I put them on my truck and the ride was shot. I kept telling myself that it wasn't that bad, BUT IT WAS VERY BAD. Within the first 4 months, it was alligned 2 times, and the tires were shot. Also, the steering wheel shook about an inch in each direction. In March, I was told that I needed to change my a-arms to be able to get my ride better. I figured I could make it last 'til summer. When summer came, I ordered a set of Pro-Comp Spindles, a new set of wheels, and a set of 33" Pro-Comp AT's. I finished installing them last night and I took it for a ride today. The ride is 1000% better than with the leveling coils, and the steering wheel doesn't shake.

Now I only have two questions:
1. With the new tires, the brakes are very soft, how can I fix this?
2. Will a superchip and Air Force 1 fix my power loss.

Are the brakes really soft? Most likely they just seem soft with the bigger tires. You either need to give yourself more room to stop or upgrade your brakes. Even with my 35" tires i can still lock them up on pavement but my brakes were very touchy to begin with. A superchip and airforce 1 will give you slightly more power, but for almost the same price you can have new gears installed which will take some stress off your drivetrain. If you haven't had your speedo corrected yet going with a higher gear ratio will also bring your speedometer back in line.

And yes, lift coils ride extremely rough i think because they are made for offrading and jumping around more than they are made for street use. Mine did soften up slightly though after 1500 miles.
