Lift question.

I have a 2004 f150 2wd. I just installed new bilstein 5100 struts to level the front end. Now im thinking I want to bring it up a few more inches. I know I can throw some blocks in the rear for pretty cheap, but what can I do about the front? im trying to get aboit 4-6 inches, without spending an arm and a leg...any advice?

4 to 6" total or 4 to 6" more than what you already have with the bilsteins?

for 2wd I think the next step besides a 4" lift would be a 6" suspension lift. whats your price range? I got my 6" skyjacker lift for $1099

Your gonna have to go full suspension or body lift. Body lift will be the cheapest only if you can do the install yourself.

You can't lift the front more than 2.5" without getting a full suspension lift. Ball joints, tie rods, etc... will get torn up if you go above 2.5". To go higher in the front than you are now, you will either have to get a full lift kit that will correct angles or get a body lift

Im cool with getying a suspension lift actually. All I am able to find online though is complete kits with shocks included. Has anyone seen kits that dont include shocks? Or maybe a place that sells components individually?

you will need to contact them about all of that.

i'm not 100% sure on the 2wd lift kits, but i know most 4wd kits use a 6" spacer on the front instead of new shocks, if so you can keep your front bilsteins but i would drop them back down to 0" lift so you have 6" lift instead of 8".

you will need new wheels if you go with a suspension lift.

The Pro Comp 6 inch Stage 1 kit doesn't include shocks. You can use your Bilstiens and have the option of setting them at the stock height location and getting 6 inches of lift or setting them at the 2 inch option and getting 8 inches of lift with the Pro Comp kit.

Your bilsteins will have to be set to stock height like wandell said. If you keep them where they are, then you would have to buy 4" spacers and not use the 6" spacers that come with a 6" lift. Or you could keep them where they are and get 8" of lift in the front, and put an add-a-leaf in the back to have 8" in the front and 6" in the back
