Easy to replace shocks?

I have an '07 2wd Supercrew with 116k miles on it. First of all, is it even time to replace the shocks? I haven't really even noticed any ride deterioration. Second, for a relative car repair novice, is it a fairly easy job to replace the shocks? Do you need any special tools? I'd like to go with the Bilstein 5100 so I can get a couple more inches of ride height. Thanks for the input.

Yes, your shocks were probably worn out a long time ago. The rear shocks are easy to replace. The front coilover shocks are a different story. You will need a very heavy duty coilspring compressor and you will need a front end alignment afterwards.
