New Body Lift w/ 37's

Well, I just got my PA 3" body lift today for my 02 Screw. I am adding this to my Super Lift. Any suggestions/short cuts you guys have to offer that has already ventured into this. It's hard looking at my 37's without them on my truck so I think I am going to start putting the lift on tomorrow.

Check out my gallary to see my GM towhook mod. It works great with body lifts. As for the lift, wash under your truck and then start spraying the body mount bolts with penetrating oil for several days before the lift. Also, it's not necessary to remove the radiator.

And if you have one, an impact wrench is nice instead of trying to turn those bolts with a ratchet. Plus it will save a decent bit of time.

read the directions several times before you start, so it will go smoothly.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to start this on Monday and finish by the weekend when my wheels come in.

Well the front is done. I actually paid somebody to do it. I read the directions and my buddy offered to do it for $125 and I said go ahead. I started the rear last night and 4 of the 6 bolts were seized. I got 1 bolt out this morning and cut the remaining three. Now I am on vacation so I will post pics of the truck done on Tuesday when my wheels come in.

I read the directions and it made sense for the $125. I did the rear myself. What a PIA. All six bolt came off the Boss with no problems, but the screw was a different story.

good advice for some applications, but never use an impact gun one one of the new body style ('09+) cab mount bolts. They have capture nuts that are tack welded inside body channels. Ford uses lots of blue Loctite on these bolts and an impact gun may break the welds and spin the nut before it breaks the Loctite.
The body lifts for the new generation F150 are a lot easier than previous ones, but if you make this mistake it will cost you a lot of time. Follow factory procedure for removing the bolts and you'll be fine.

I was refering to a 97-03. I wasn't aware of the welds on the new gen trucks. But an impact is definitely nice to use on the bolts in the bed, as those seem to be the hardest ones to remove.

Especially when someone has covered them with a spray in bed liner

Haha, yeah that's why I waited until after I did my body lift to spray the liner.
