Factory strut dust boots?

Hey all,

I installed Rancho 9000XL shocks with my lift and was noticing that the factory dust boots keep sliding down. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do? Go without dust boots or a different type maybe?

Thanks

I don't run them. A lot of people feel they trap mud, water, dirt, etc.

Thanks, wandell. So you just have the naked bump stops? I would not worry about it, if the seals were facing down, instead of up.

I use zip ties at both the collar and at the shock body. I also used a soldering iron to make holes at the bottom side of the boot to allow water to drain.

StoveTop,

Was this with the stockers or some rubber accordion type? I had to put a slit on both sides of the lower stocker to get it to slide over the 70mm shock tube.
