Thumbs up Edelbrock IAS's Installed

Installed the mono-tubes all the way around, it handles better, especially in cornering. Install was pretty straight forward, an 18mm wrench makes getting the top rears off easier.
My brother in-law couldn't understand why someone would replace perfectly good shocks that has only 19k miles on them.
Bought'em from Jeg's racing for $69 w/free shipping, plus Edlebrock is giving a $27 rebate.

Thumbs up Installed set as well.

Installed a set of those on my Supercrew and like them a lot. I think that cornering is the single most improved benefit. They are stiffer than stock but ride quite well. They do a much better job of controlling the rear end under load and not under load than the stockers.

Lightbulb Edelbrock shocks.

No, I didn't get the coupon with the shocks and that reminds me I need to call 4wheel parts and get it. Money well spent though.

By the way drifter, did you do the y-mod with the Borla exhaust? Also how do you like the sound and peformance of the Borla's? I am thinking of getting a new catback system with the y-pipe and like a stock look but with enhanced performance and maybe just a little more rumble on acceleration but very minimal noise especially at cruise.

Changed the shocks out on my Expy at 4K miles. Best thing I did for that monster!

JmartinB -- Ditto on that

I replaced mine at 3000 miles and had a major upgrade in performance.
Stock shocks are a joke. I saved them in a box. You can push or pull them back and forth with little resistance.
I'll send them to anyone who asks.
Not worth the shipping.

Screwdriver the Borla's work great for me. Just about like you described, a mellow tone but a little rumble when you step on it. I did the y pipe modification. Seems to have helped out but I dont drive it that hard to make a comparison on stomping on it before and after.

I didn't get the coupon with the shocks either, but if you have a printer you can go to www.edelbrock.com and print it.
So far I've put a couple of hundred miles on them and I really can tell the difference, heck even the wife said she could tell a difference. I didn't tell her I charged them on HER card.

Question

Those of you who have installed the IAS shocks as well as a Hellwig sway bar and/or poly bushings, which item made the most difference in the handling? The shocks are a bit pricey to start exerimenting with but from the reponse on this thread, they sound like they are well worth the money.

I replaced the stock shocks with Edelbrocks at 11,000 miles - big improvement.

The IAS make a huge reduction in body roll - I was really surprised at how much. I have a Steeda rear bar and poly bushings on the front bar, and the shocks made a bigger difference than the rear bar and front bushings.

I used Rancho RS9000s, but I installed the front and rear Hellwig anti-sway bars. I put each one on and tested them for a while before adding the other. Each made a nice improvement, and the combination was great, but BY FAR the most noticeable was the front anti-sway bar. This is a 2WD truck and I don't know what you have or if the 4WD is available.

did I get the correct shock?

I ordered the Edelbrock IAS's for my 00 Expy (4x4). When installing the rear's I had to compress the shock down (farther down than the strap held them) in order to get them to fit, probably about 1-2 inches. Is that normal...?
