hello and help

Hello all,

My name is mike I am new to this forum as well as to the ford trucks. I am currently in the army but will be out here soon. I was wounded overseas this past july so I decided to buy myself some toys. I recently just bought a 2011 f150 supercrew xlt. I am wanting to raise it just a bit to clear 35"s. I spend a ton of times out in the backwoods and want something that will let me get around and play if I want to. My truck seems high already for stock but I want bigger tires without having a huge high truck. I still drive around the city so 6" is to high and 4" is to much. What do yall recommend I do? I have been browsing through the suspension area already but I couldn't find what I was looking for. So any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks again and I look forward to getting info on the ford world of trucks.

Mike

Well first thing is first. Welcome! If you have a 4x4 you probably just need a leveling kit. Im not sure about the specs (2 or 2.5") but that should allow you to clear 35s. Im sure someone will chime in and tell you exactly what size you need soon.

If it were me I would get a 2.5" leveling kit for the front and a 3" block for the rear. That will allow bigger tires to be fit, but still keep some of the rake for towing things. Autospring is a popular kit on here and they sell both the front kit and the rear block. If you tow a lot, however, then you could go with an add a leaf.

Yep do a 2.5" autospring with either a add a leaf or block and put some 35s on it and you will be golden. Just be careful on what tire you use cause a aggressive mud terrain will prolly rub the control arm some

You could go with firestone airbags. They're a little more expensive but lots of people like them.

Yea, you could just skip the block and let it set level from the autospring. Or if you wanna keep the factory rake you can either use a block, add-a-leaf, firestone bags, or custom leaves. Those are in order from what I believe to be cheapest to most expensive haha.

Before you order a spacer, I suggest you look at Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks. A few more bucks to get, and more labor to install, but the end result is less stress on all moving parts, and less worry. I suspect it might save you money in the long run. I have no second thoughts about putting them in my '10 FX4.
