4" vs 6" kits

I'm looking to get a little higher with a suspension lift. I have a 3" body lift now, along with 35's. When lifts are advertised, Fabtech says "true" 6" lift with their knuckles. Are the RCX, RCD, trailmaster, etc lifts actually 4" lifts, then count torsion cranking as the final 1-2 inches of lift? I don't want to get into 37's or 38's for tires. Just wondering, as I see Rus's truck says it has a 4" trailmaster, but all I see for sale are 6" kits.

true 6" lift means it gives you a 6" drop sub frame, alot of kits use a 4-4.5" drop and sell it as a 4.5", but also sell a 6" kit which is the same as the 4.5" but with an AAL or larger block and require cranked torsion bars to get the extra 1.5" required.
