Looking for softer ride

I have a 2002 F-150 4x4 with 160K miles. Still in great condition, but the ride is rough and I can feel every pot hole. I was thinking of new shocks, but every brand says they are the smoothest. Any suggestions on which to get to have the softest ride.

If you are still running the original shocks, I am sure the are very worn out. Probably any good aftermarket shock would improve your ride quality. However, I run Rancho 9000 XL shocks and the advantage of those are that they are adjustable and can be adjusted from a limousine type ride to very firm. I really like mine. I have no regrets.
