lowering a 4x4 brainstorm
lowering a 4x4 brainstorm
This is only the begining of a brainstorm and I know it is probably completely impossible but I like dreaming. Would it be possible to take 6" lift spindles for a 4x4 and flip them to get a big drop out of a 4x4. Yes i know 4x4 shouldnt be lowered blah blah blah. The angle of the shafts with the frame would be a challenge.
how would flipping a spindle do anything? even if you could bolt everything up, it would still give you 6 inches of lift.
a smaller spindle is needed to properly do a suspension drop.
check the mentioned thread out. you might learn something.

i know what you're thinking. no, it wouldn't work.

I guess no one ever looked at a lift kit spindle... And no it wouldn't be a bolt in... The top control arm would need to be raises etc. I did a torsion key drop before and it got low but I'm still dreaming lower.
not sure if you know, but chevy 4wd trucks can do lower control arms and that gets them an additional 2" or so, and i've wondered if we can use the same control arms as them. probably only difference is shock location on the arms, or the spindle/hub gap is off.
