I bought the 3" PA BL for my truck and was gonna wait til its a lil warmer to put it on, i was wonder how big of a pain in the butt this thing is gonna be to put on...was wondering how many of you have actually put your own on.
Body lift are not that hard to put in yourself. The last one i did was on my 03 Ranger. Took me roughly 6-7 hours to do by myself. Hardest thing was to do was reinstalling the bumpers, those things are heavy when your trying to line up bolts
Figure on taking a whole day if you have never done one. Make sure you take measurements of bed to cab spacing, bumpers etc... before you start. I think i have some pics of mine in my gallery. What size tire rim combo you gonna use?
I am also planning on installing a body lift. Tomorrow. I have an 01 screw. Just a few questions. Is it necessary to remove the radiator and transmission cooler lines? I have E-fans, and don't really see why it is necessary.
Is there any way of moving my receiver hitch up 3" and still keep its strength?
Are there any options for moving the front tow hooks up as well.
Any other tips or tricks I should know about? I have been spraying 1 can of PB Blaster per day on the body mount bolts for the last 4 days.

No, you don't have to remove the radiator. You will have to bend the cooler lines to fit around the fan shroud. I think this was the worst part of my lift. The don't call them "hard lines" for nothing!
Some members have cut the hitch and rewelded it to fit higher, but I think mine looks fine. Just flip the trailor wiring plug upside down to raise it. There is a company that makes a raised hitch for our trucks with body lifts, but I don't remember the name.
Look at my gallary. I mounted towhooks from a 88-98 GM half ton truck inside my frame rails. They line up almost perfectly with the holes in the valance.

Installed the body lift today. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I would describe the installation of a body lift as time consuming rather than hard. It took me and 2 friends 8 hours start to finish to get it done. However, we stopped to eat, and wait out the rain for an hour. So, more like 7 hours total. A cooler full of beer is a must for an all day project like this - it keeps the friends happy.
I did not install new wheels and tires yet, that's next weekend. I need a few more green backs for the rubber.
I flipped the trailer plug and it makes the back look better, but I am still debating on having one of my welders modify it to move it up. And I definitely have to get a set of GM tow hooks for the front end.
All in all, I am pleased the way everything turned out, and this forum gave me the confidence to go through with it.
