Lowered to lifted.. need some help

I have an 07 extended cab with a 6.5 bed. We had to install a carrier bearing relocator when i dropped the truck. As you already know, we had to cut the bracket. My question is has anyone ever done this before? I'm thinking about welding a piece of flat stock in there to bring the drive shaft back down, or maybe getting a one piece drive shaft. But i don't know what would be a better choice. It's going up and at least getting leveled. Most likely a 6-8 inch lift in the near future. not sure yet

Appreciate the help
