06 FX4 shocks leaking at 64420 miles?
Took my truck to Belle Tire today for my free tire rotation and was told my rear shocks were starting to leak. Was also told tire rotation before last that my rear rotors didn't have enough material on them to have them turned. Rotors were fine, didn't even need new rotors, just pads.
Getting to the point, is it possible for them to be leaking? I have never had a problem with shocks leaking....not on my 02 Explorer and not on my 93 Mustang GT. They are covered in salt from the Michigan winter, is it something that will be visible? Would like some second opinions.

Was just wondering since they were just trying to get into my wallet when they told me about my rear brakes and not having enough on the rear rotors to turn them. So what am I looking for? Should be obvious since they are covered in salt correct?
What you will see is wet spots, and it will feel oily, just like any other oil. It would probably be around near the area where the steel shaft slides in and out of the tube, which you may not be able to see unless the shocks ar at full extension. To be honest, I would replace them whether leaking or not. At your mileage, they probably are not working that well anyhow and you will feel a big difference with new.
