need SHOCK HELP/TIRE HELP!!!

Recently purchased as 2.5 leveling kit, planning to put 35's on when I install the LK... Stock shocks have about 60000 miles on em and are kind of soft. With the leveling kit installed, do i purchase the same size shocks as stock? Thinking bilstein...any specific model number you guys are aware of? Would like a stiffer ride for cornering/performance, light offroad use and occasional towing.

Just need to know what brand/model # anyone reccomends

and if the shocks will fit without modification due to the leveling kit

Also,...want 35x12.50x18 tires, and have MOTOMETAL 18" wheels...will that work?

Correct...even with a leveling kit, you still order stock type shocks for your truck. Any shock from Bilstein or Rancho is going to give you what you seek.

Would Bilstein 5100's work? I've read that they are ride height adjustable...so would I just leave them at a 0" lift since I have the leveling kit? Same for rear? I dont want any lift in the rear at all, just new shocks and the 35's.

Or does Bilstein make 5100 shocks that are just non adjustable?

Yes, the 5100's are height adjustable. I recommend you use the lift capability of the shock and ditch the the level kit.

Rear shocks are not height adjustable anyways so you don't have to worry about that. You can't raise the rear with shocks.

Bilstein does make a 5100 that is not height adjustable. They are called HD's (Heavy Duty) instead of 5100.

one more question

Sounds good... would using the adjustable shocks to add the 2" of lift wear anything anymore than the level kit? And, would 35's fit with the 2" instead of 2.5? Just out of curiosity, Why is one better than the other? My trucks a 4x4, but not an FX4.

The suspension on a 4X4 and FX4 are identical. The wear and tear between one and the other on suspension components would be about the same...they would both create about the same angles. Most people just prefer to use the benefits of the shock itself instead of adding additional unnecessary components.
