Lifting vs Leveling

I have a '98 F-150 with stock 17" FX4 wheels that I would like to raise a few inches. I also tow a 20' boat. Do I just need a lift kit or a combination lift/level kit? I only have 50,000 miles on it but if new shocks are required let me know. It seems some of the leveling kits also raise the height and vice versa. Also, how expensive is this operation? Any equipment recommendations are appreciated.

You have a ton of options. You can level your truck by cranking up the preload on the torsion bars (you will need an alignment afterwards). If you want to lift the rear also, you can install a taller lift block or an add-a-leaf. You could also install a 3 inch body lift. The final option is a full suspension lift. You are only limited by you budget.

BUT... raising it, you'll want bigger tires. That 20' boat aint gonna tow quite the same..
Bet it looks sweet tho, love fx4 wheels!
