AAL is on the way...what shocks do you guys suggest?

So my AAL's are gonna be here in a couple days. I figured i might as well replace the shocks too since its a 97 and its probably in dire need of them. I've looked at the bilsteins, seem kinda expensive, so being a tight wad.. are rancho's any good. Im sure there alot better than stock? Since im getting the 2.5" AAL's, can my rear shocks just be for stock replacement??(I think its listed as 0 lift/drop) or are there certain ones i need to get?
Thanks for any input

I have bilsteins that came with my fabtech lift, and they are really smooth. I am not sure what the part # on them is. I know they arent 5100s, but they have a stainless steel appearance.

I like them alot, they are better than stock for sure. I have a set of doestch shocks that have like idk 1500 miles on them that I would send your way, but they are made to work with 4" lift blocks.

I mean like the stance of a 2500/250 truck, might need to get a 4" lift to do it tho.
