Daystar leveling kits

Anybody have these on their trucks? How do you like the ride after installation, about the same as stock, rougher? Do they eventually wear out & cause the front end to sink since they are polyurethane?

I have a 2004 4x4 that I want to put a leveling kit on & would like opinions of the Daystar kit. If the Daystar is a no go, what do you all recommend? I would prefer something that does not change the ride quality of my truck too much.

Thanks.

Daystar makes quality products. You don't have to worry about the urethane they use wearing out. I had one of their kits on a Grand Cherokee for years. Honestly, none of the spacer style leveling kits for the 04-11 F-150's should change the ride as they are just a spacer that bolts on top of the coilover shocks.

Thanks wandell. You have a very good point there, about not changing the ride quality.

I know I have read that you can fit 33's - 35's under a truck with a 2.5" leveler kit, but what about a truck with mudflaps? My truck has 275/65/R18's on it now & I think I would like to go to 33's, is there a tire conversion chart around here someplace, & would I have to take off my mud flaps? I would rather not take them off cause I live on a gravel road & they do do their job pretty well by protecting the paint. (I don't go fast on gravel roads)

Would I be able to get 33's in the wheel wells with a 2" kit? I don't mind a little bit of a rake, but the factory rake is ridiculous. Just looking at my options.

Thanks again.

Honestly, I'm not sure how the mudflaps would interfere with 35's. You shouldn't have any problems with a 33 inch tire with a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit. As for tire sizes, you can look at the manufacturer's websites for exact sizes. But for what you are considering, basically:
285/65-18 = 33x11.50
305/60-18 = 33x12.50
305/70-18 = 35x12.50

AWESOME, thanks again for your help & expertise in answering my questions.

I will likely stay with a 33" tire when I get ready to do this, since it won't really affect my MPG by looking at the sizes you posted. Now I just have to make up my mind on either the 2" or 2.5" kit. Gonna go check out some of the "show me your __ leveling kits" type of posts.

Thanks again wandell.

simple calculation for tire sizes. Example. 295/65-18 295*.65*2/25.4 + 18 = 33.1 will give you the height of the tire. Hope that helps your search for tires.
