6" and bilstiens
Some of you mightve seen my thread about the 2" AS not working. So last night I ordered a set of 5100's. They claim to be a full 2 inches of lift but I'm just checking to make sure thats true from anyone who has them. Especially anyone who has them with a 6" Stage 1 lift.
I cant delay putting these bad boys on anymore
thanks guys

The 5100's are basically a leveling kit. They are adjustable to 2 inches. You install the bilsteins cranked to 2 inch and keep your stage 1 spacer and you will have an 8 inch lift. If you just install the bilsteins without cranking them up you still have a 6 inch lift. No need to add the AS spacer if you get the Bilsteins.
Well that would be somewhat pointless to buy the 0-2" bilsteins if you have a 6" lift, the whole objective is to get rid of that hideous pro comp spacer. hopefully you bought the 4-6" bilsteins that way you can just run the AS
Well the 5100 bilsteins just replaces the shock part of the strut. Adjusting it up 2 inches gives you a 2 inch taller strut. I guess you could buy the 4-6 inch ones but im sure the 5100 leveling kit would be cheaper. If the point is to get rid of the spacer then these would be pointless, if the objective is to obtain 8 inches of lift then they would be the way to go.
0-2 adj 5100s set at the 2" setting and 6" spacer from the lift company = 8"
or
4-6 adj 5100s set at the 6" setting and a 2" leveling kit = 8"
either way u end up with 8". i went the 4-6 and a level just because i wanted to get rid of the spacer

If I was wanting to go that route I would just get Dirt Logic coilovers. But cash is sort of a problem right now. Thats why I went with the 1500's.
Basically all I was wondering is if it would be a FULL 8" of lift from anybody who actually has experience with this setup. Because Im going to need every bit of it with these 37s.
Also.. I know how to remove my strut and all of that. But how easy is it to disassemble the strut to install the 1500's. Im guessing Im going to need a spring compresser and a few small tools?

My route is the same price wise as your route. Same shocks just longer.

As far as the spring compressor goes. I've done it numerous time and have just rented the ones from autozone, i know they can be dangerous but i make sure to go slow. Its really easy with air tools.

BEST way to go is get the bilsteins that are made for the 6inch pro crap spacer. Plus it looks way better because you see coilovers and not a spacer when someone walks by your truck. Better ride and can also add the leveling kit on top. I honestly dont see why people by the adjustable ones when they have that POS spacer in there which makes the truck look like crap. I just laugh at it everytime i walk by a truck with that spacer. NO offense pro crap stage 1 guys its just a personal opinion. Someone should come up with 6inch lift coilovers for guys to throw on their trucks instead of having to buy king coils as they just cost so much. Like what skyjacker used to include in their 6inch lifts but now they use a spacer or something else from what i hear. Here was my old skyjacker with the coilovers made for the 6inch lifts.

If you buy the adjustable ones from 0-2inches you CANT get rid of the spacer. The only way you can get rid of the spacer is if you buy the 4-6inch bilsteins( which if you call those the adjustables then were on the same page lol ). Then you add the leveling kit on top of that.
