bilstein 5100 install?

So I had by bilstein 5100's put on yesterday and they ride great an look even better. I have a question for all of u out there though. On the front on one side I can see the yellow bushing on top (bump stop?) On one side and on the other they put the dust cover back on. Will that hurt anything or cause me any kind of problems other than it looks bad lol? Can I cut the plastic off the other side to make it at least match?

First off, Pictures of the installed bilstein or didn't happen.

Secondly, cutting off the piece of plastic shouldn't hurt anything.

Go to harbor freight and pick up a cutting tool such as a small reciprocating saw or a dremel.

The third pic on this link would be suffice. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalog...gory=&q=dremel

Or the electric body saw, sixth pic on this one link would probably do the job. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalog...iprocating+saw

I would have left them on to keep dust, dirt, etc, out... I know there are many that are just fine without it, though. I bet you wouldn't cut off the boots to the shocks in the rear, would you? Just offering a varying opinion... Good luck, man!

You are correct that I wouldn't cut the boots off the reat unless I had to. I would prefer to not cut the front off either but the monkey using the wrench that put them on the truck only put the dust shield back on ONE SIDE an since I don't have the dust shield nor the tools to remove the strut and install the boot I would like to cut off the one he did put on in order to make them look uniform in appearance.

I hear you, man. You'll likely be fine.

I'd go back and insist that they install the other dust cover.

Did you put the ring on the 2 inch mark? What is your measurement now from ground to wheel well? front and back?
