Talking new to lifting

Been an F-150 guy since 2001...just now got back from Afghanistan and have a couple bucks saved up. I have an 06' F-150 4x4 XLT with the 5.4....Can (hopefully) more than one person guide me in the right direction for a sus lift kit? I was looking at a couple skyjacker kits, they seem expensive but im a new-b. I want something that wont tear up my truck but will last a while (wanna have the truck for at least another 10 years) Any recommendations will be taken. As far as what im lloking for: I want 6" of lift Im looking at 37" Nitro tires and I currently have a 2.5" leveling kit on the front. My questions; is 6" lift gonna work with 37" tires, does the leveling kit need to come off before I lift, will I need to replace drivetrain or any other major hardware, Is skyjacker the "cheapest" good lift for an 06 F-150, anyone had good experiences with another brand? Please dont be rude, I'm just looking for honest good answers.

Im also looking for a nice CA legal (unfortunately) exhaust system that will make a grown man wet his pants. I want it loud and proud to be a Ford. I'm just getting in the market so once again I'm a new-b I can do most of the work myself besides welding and cutting. Anything with increased HP and a good deep noise i will take ino consideration.

well you have a few options, if you want to take the leveling kit off so you have factory angles on the front and run 37's then you will need an 8in. kit, rize makes that. or you could run a 6in. kit along with the leveling kit and run 37's too. i have had my fabtech kit since my truck left the dealership and not a single thing has broken on it and i put it through a lot. i also just put a leveling kit on top of it the other week.

Only picture i got with my 6inch lift and a leveling kit. But you get the idea and the tires are 35s but you can fit the 37s just fine.

You wanna go the right way and the best lift kit to fit 37s? Go with a Rize 8inch Lift. Its the best engineered IFS lift out there for our trucks. But if you do just be prepared to spend a little bit more money than buying a fabtech. I was also running a 6inch skyjacker lift for like 3 years and had no problems what so ever man. Loved the kit and put it through a bunch of crap lol. Then when i bought my 12inch Rize i sold the 6inch Skyjacker to another member here and he hasnt had any problems with it either. Only thing is im not sure if Skyjacker includes a whole new strut and instead they use a longer shock that you swap out with the stock one on the truck.
