Broken Shock Mount

I was under my truck today tracking down a noisy squeek and found out that my lower mounting tab for my front shock has broke off. My question is will they (a welder) be able to weld it back on or do I nned to buy a whole new lower control arm? I can do shaddy tree mechanic stuff but I have no idea how to weld. Thanks

If the bushings on the control arm are original I would replace the arm and skip the weld.

is the tab on the shock broken? or the stud in the control arm?

you should be able to weld a bolt in there pretty easily

Mine has a bolt that runs threw the control arm then the shock and finally the tab that broke off
