Question Lift / Lower- 07 2wd?

Hey all, well Im wanting to continue modding my truck but still cant decide which route is best for me or how I want to go. Truck is currently leveled via 2 inch rear drop shackles, but everytime I see or ride in my dads 05 fx4 leveld w/ 2.5 front, it makes me want mine to sit up. I find myself more drawn to lifted look versus lowered I suppose.. considering this truck will never be a race car.. why lower it? I pretty much want the look of an fx4, leveled with like and extra 2-3 inches of lift. So Im thinking of taking off shackles, leveling the front with 2.5 or 3 inch coil spacer lift.. try for stock 4x4 rear block.. then eventually possilby add a 3 inch BL and run these fx4 stock oem 20s I have on now. Anyone with any advice or insight..? I cant decide, would 3 inch leveling be too high on front suspension for a 2wd, Id like the 3 inch level but read its too much angle in the front? Just any input on lifting a 2wd would be appreciated! thanks

if it was me, i'd go with a 2" leveling kit to get it sitting as close to level as i could, then a 3" body lift with stock 20's and 35's. should sit you a little higher than your dads. 3" leveling kit is to much and will destroy front end components quicker. I think w/ a 4x4 block and a body lift you will have to much rear rake but thats all owners preference at that point.

Body lifts are great, but everyone says they are a huge pain to install on 04-08's. I'd suggest going with a 6 inch Fabtech or Pro Comp lift. That will put your ride height about 2 inches taller than your Dad's leveled 4x4.

yeaa really would do a suspension lift, but the cheapest is.. hrmm the skyjacker 6 inch.. for like $1400 right? Something like that.. If I could actually install the suspension lift myself that would seriously interest me.. installs are like $600+ around here. Anyone know how difficult it would be to do a suspension lift on a 2wd? Would seem to be easier than a 4x4 and I know doing the rear part of the install is easy.. I am somewhat a tinker-er on stuff, I would love to be able to do the lift myself, I have done a body lift before on my last truck.. and yeaa i read the body lifts on these things suck to install.. shoot it might take the same amount of time to install a suspension lift? haha
