Cam Kits?

So i went to get my front end aligned the other day and they told me since i had gotten a leveling kit put on that i needed cam kits. What are cam kits? and Do i really have to have them? Does anyone else have them?

They are referring to adjustable camber bolts. They are replacement bolts that are used where the a-arms mount to the frame and have an offset cam on their head so the camber adjustment can be fine tuned. A few members here have had to have them to get their alignment perfect, but it's been very few. They are about $50 at most parts stores.

All camber kits do is make it easier for the alignment guys to do their jobs, they do not magically give you more camber alignment. I did not need a camber kit when I had a 2" AS spacer or with my 2" drop coils. Both times it aligned back to within specs.
