Lookin to lower a bit

I've got a '98 2wd F150 Supercab with a 4.6 and its plain... very plain. My tires are goin to soon need replaced and my rims are gettin nasty lookin. I'm wantin a slightly lowered but level stance with a 17" wheel. I've built plenty of lifted Chevy and GMC's and this is my 1st time ever even thinkin about this but I want somthing sporty plus it might be gettin Super/Pro Charger soon.... once I figure out who and what I need haha. I want a decently wide tire so thinkin about a 17x10 wheel but what size tire would I need? Im used to 35+ 12.50+ on 15's haha.

I'd add a set of lowering shackles out back to level the truck and go with some 305/40-22's.
