4wd lowering question

Hello everyone. Fairly new to the forum as I only check in every so often.

I just ordered the Belltech lowering struts for my 2009 4x4, the part number that belltech gave me was 25001, I hope that is right. As I have now read many post that say the stock 2wd struts also lower the 4wd.

I also ordered the 2" lowering shackles. I figured that the shackles could be installed as well as removing the rear lift block that would about another 1.25" of drop if I decided I needed it.

Please save the 4wd lowering BS for someone else's thread, I actually use my truck for hauling stuff and this will make loading and unloading the bed a helluva lot easier.

Thank you for any helpful information that you may be able to provide.

I guess I didn't really put a question mark anywhere did I?:o

1) Did I order the right front struts? Has anyone used them on a 4wd?

2) Is it true that the stock 2wd front struts lower a 4wd?

3) Another one that just popped in my head, what angle shim will I most likely need for the rear end if I lower it with the 2" shackles and remove the block? Is that something that I just need to measure?

Thanks,
Chad.

being an 09, i have no idea what fits it and does what, and what shims you'd need either.
but good luck with it and hopefully someone else on here can help you out

I installed the struts and lowering shackles this weekend and thought I would update the thread for anyone who might do a search later.

1) The struts work, but they lowered the truck about an inch lower than advertised. I installed the spacers that should have lowered it 2" and it turned out to be 3".

2) The difference in the height might be what the difference in the height of the 2wd to 4wd.

3) The pinion angle changed by about 3.5 degrees, but I have no drivetrain vibration. I may put a 2 degree shim in it anyway, time will tell.

I will start another thread with some before and after pics.
